Messick Lake & RiverFront Association, Inc.
The Five Lakes Knowledge Library is an educational initiative created and maintained by the Messick Lake & RiverFront Association, Inc.
Although this project began as part of the Messick Lake & RiverFront Association's efforts to better understand sediment management, water quality, and watershed stewardship, it quickly became clear that these subjects extend far beyond a single lake.
Because Witmer, Westler, Dallas, Hackenberg, and Messick Lakes share a common watershed, this library has been developed to serve the entire Five Lakes community. Our goal is to provide a trusted collection of historical documents, scientific studies, plain-language educational resources, frequently asked questions, and stewardship information that benefits all residents, visitors, and future generations.
While the website is owned and maintained by the Messick Lake & RiverFront Association, Inc., we welcome the participation of other lake associations, government agencies, conservation organizations, consultants, historians, educators, and community members who wish to contribute knowledge and historical resources.
Ownership and Stewardship
The Five Lakes Knowledge Library is owned, maintained, and funded by the Messick Lake & RiverFront Association, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to promoting the stewardship, preservation, and long-term health of the Five Lakes watershed.
This library represents one of the Association's educational initiatives and reflects our commitment to preserving both the natural and historical heritage of the Five Lakes for future generations.
